Blow down process of siphon toilet is basically depends on the suction power, which is produced by the water level difference between the two ends of S-shaped pipeline after be filled with water. This suction power will push filth into the sewer.

Different flushing methods bring different advantages and disadvantages to the two types of toilet. You can find out the most suitable product after considering those properties in combination with the specific situation of your family.

The main disadvantage of a straight flushing toilet is that it wastes a lot of water and makes loud noise. But its thick blow-off line will make sure it can hardly get clogged up. The flushing way of siphon toilet can achieve bigger impact force with less water and low noise. But its thin pipe is relatively easy to jam. You need to put another trash can in the bathroom for toilet paper, which will take up a lot of place and may gather the bacteria.

You also need to consider about the shape and specifications of the downpipe in your house. Straight flushing toilet is suitable for the house with any shape of downpipe, but the siphon toilet is not. At present, the downpipe of newly-built houses in cities are mostly made of PVC .

These pipes generally have three types:

2.S-shaped pipe with shallow u-shaped backwater trap. The houses with u-shaped backwater trap can use siphon toilet and keep a great drainage at the same time. You can also us straight flushing toilet if you like.

3. Straight pipe with no backwater trap. In theory, houses with such sewers can use both straight flushing toilet and siphon toilet. But the siphon toilet is a common used one. On the one hand, straight sewer can give full play to its advantage and reduce the risk of jam. On the other hand, if you use straight flushing toilet in the house with straight pipes, there will be no backwater trap on the bottom of toilet to help you preventing the smelly odour.
